Public workshops were held from February to July of 2025 across the county where the public were invited to work on their own quilt blocks and work on central name blocks after learning about lynching and victims of Jefferson County, Alabama. Culminating in an exhibition called Bound Together: Threads of Remembrance, August 23rd through December 13th 2025 at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
My participation was as a primary partner lead for Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, working of quilt design , layout, construction, along with being one of the a co-leads in all of the public workshops, and collecting all the quilt blocks after their completion.
The finished quilt is now in the permanent collection of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
